Who I see in my practice:

I work with Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families to create healing, happiness and well-being. We will work together to decrease personal conflicts that may be causing confusion, pain and suffering resulting in the impediment of healthy transformation and growth. My specialties include but are not limited to…

Substance Abuse and Addiction

I have many years of experience working with those who suffer from substance abuse and the negative impacts that addiction has on personal lives’ and relationships with others. In my work, we will address the underlying causes and reasons for your substance abuse and find solutions to live a more authentic life.

Trauma

Trauma survivors are a unique population of clients that represent nearly 80% of clients seeking mental health services. The years of helping those with deeply, distressing disturbing experiences allow me to safely explore your needs and find solutions to healing the wounds.

Anxiety

Anxiety is often a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome and is your body's natural response to stress. It may be a feeling of fear or apprehension about what's to come. We live in a community that may present many circumstances that could lead to feelings that will keep you from living your best life. Let’s explore more mindful and constructive solutions together.

Depression

Depression may come about for many different reasons, but usually is a feeling that includes sadness, loneliness, isolation, lethargy and the lack of desire to enjoy what is rightfully yours. We live in trying times in our community, our country and the world. We will explore your symptom and find a way for you to live a more fulfilling life.

Couples/relationships

As humans, we are social beings and healthy relationships are a vital component of our health and well-being. There is compelling evidence that strong, healthy relationships contribute to a long, healthy, and happy life. In order to maintain and grow as a couple or within relationships to others, there must be elements of self-love, trust, honesty, communication and connection.  At any time and for various reasons, these factors may become out of balance and the marriage, partnership and/or relationship suffers. I work with couples and those in relationships by providing a safe space for the exploration and processing of the issues, repair the divide and develop a healthier more loving relationship.

Parenting/Co-parenting

By recognizing the importance of integrity, collaboration and consistency in meaningful parenting, I have been able, along with their father, to raise two successful and prosperous sons.  My own personal experience will allow for exploring, defining and living as a parent and/or a co-parent that will benefit all involved.

Life Transitions and Adjustments

All of our lives go through transitions that we must adjust to in order to create happiness and well-being. This may include watching your child enter their kindergarten classroom or assisting them in moving to their first dorm room; overcoming a difficult end to a meaningful relationship; accepting the loss or change of a job you found fulfilling; adjusting to retirement. I will offer my knowledge and my personal experience in order that you may find grace and dignity to move forward.

Crisis Management

There may be times in a person’s life that the pain and struggle become overwhelming and the feelings of despair, helplessness, worthlessness and hopelessness lead a person to believing the only solution is to end their life. A mental health crisis can occur for many reasons, including personal, home environment, school and work stressors. We will work together to heal the wounds, rediscover happiness and find a solid path to well-being where you will not only overcome your crisis, but will also learn to love yourself and create a space to live the life you envision and deserve.

Payment Policies

I accept cash, check or credit cards. All payments are made at each session unless otherwise arranged. Fee session amounts are arranged prior to initial appointment.
I am not “in-network” with any insurance company, however, if you have a PPO plan, there is a good chance that your insurance will provide some compensation for "out-of-network" providers. I am happy to provide you with a statement (Superbill), which you can submit to the third-party of your choice to seek reimbursement of fees already paid. If you are interested in working with me and feel that you would like your insurance to reimburse you for some or all of your costs, you will need to contact your insurance company to determine your coverage for reimbursement. Some questions you should ask:

·      Do I need a referral from a physician before I can get therapy?

·      Does my insurance cover a provider outside of network?

·      What is my deductible that must be met first?

·      How much will my plan cover for each session? (Please note that this may be a specific dollar amount or percentage of the fee)

·      Is there a limit for number of sessions per year or on amount of fees per year?

Privacy Considerations: If you are considering using your insurance to pay for all or some of your therapy, there are certain additional considerations you should understand. I am committed to doing everything possible to maintain confidentiality in working with you. However, when you choose to pay for your own therapy rather than going through your insurance company, you maintain greater control over your treatment and privacy. Insurance companies require a mental illness diagnosis in order to process and reimburse claims. Some companies also want additional personal information and/or treatment progress reports to determine fee payment, length of treatment, etc. Additionally, it is possible that this personal information, including your diagnosis, will remain in your medical history and might affect later access to health or disability coverage, even after you've made progress and no longer need therapy.

Cancellation Policy: You are responsible for payment of the agreed upon fee for any missed session(s). You are also responsible for payment of the agreed upon fee for any session(s) for which you failed to give at least 24-hour notice of cancellation.
