Who I see in my practice:
I work with Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families to create healing, happiness and well-being by decreasing personal conflicts within yourself and others which may cause confusion, pain and suffering. My specialties include but are not limited to…
Substance Abuse and Addiction:
I have many years working with those who suffer from Substance Abuse/Addiction and the negative impact and disruption it has in their personal self and in their relationship with others. We can address the underlying causes and reasons for you substance abuse and find solutions to live a more authentic life.
Trauma:
Trauma survivors are a unique population of clients that represent nearly 80% of clients seeking mental health services. The years of helping those with deeply distressing or disturbing experiences will allow me to safely explore your needs and find solutions to healing the wounds. We can do this together.
Generally, symptoms of anxiety and depression go hand-in-hand with substance abuse and traumatic experiences and can also be addressed separately.
Anxiety:
Anxiety is often a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome and is your body's natural response to stress. It's a feeling of fear or apprehension about what's to come. We live in a community that may present many circumstances that could lead to feelings that will keep you from living your best life. Let’s explore coping strategies and solutions together.
Depression:
Depression may come about for many different reasons, but usually it is a feeling that includes sadness, loneliness, isolation, lethargy and the lack of desire to enjoy what is rightfully yours. We live in trying times both in or community, our country and the world. We will explore your symptoms, the reasons for them and find a way to live the fulfilling life you want to live.
Parenting/Co-parenting:
I am the proud mom of two happy and prosperous sons. I was able to successfully co-parent with their dad as we continue to navigate how we will be as a family. My own personal experience will allow for exploration, defining and living as a parent and/or a co-parent.
Life Transitions and Adjustments:
All of our lives go through transistions that we must adjust to in order to create happiness and well-being. This includes: watching your child enter their kindergarten classroom or assisting them in moving into their first dorm room; overcoming a difficult and emotional end to a meaningful relationship; learning of a serious health diagnosis for yourself or a loved one; oradjusting to the loss or change of a job you found fulfilling. I will offer by knowledge, my education and my personal experience in order that we may find grace and dignity to move forward.
And just plain living in the South Bay!
